Though I’m a boudoir photographer and I love nothing more than to see my friends in the studio, I never ever pressure anyone to get in front of the camera. Boudoir is such a vulnerable and intimate experience, and one that I wholeheartedly believe in doing whenever it feels right for you.

When this babe sent me a message telling me she was ready to book a session to gift to her future husband for their wedding, I was over the moon. We’ve known each other since high school — we actually met through a boy we were both interested in, lol! We ended up becoming friends after, and became coworkers for a hot minute (we worked at Zumiez in the mall together!) and supported each other’s stage performances throughout high school while building a friendship.

After high school, she moved to Kentucky for college and I stayed around Evansville and went to USI. Though we had miles between us, we kept up with each other on social media, and through the internet I’ve watched her blossom and follow her dreams. She’s a photographer too!! We’ve had the privilege of watching each other grow in our crafts, helping each other learn and practice, and I was lucky enough to watch her love story unfold as it happened.

When she got engaged, her happiness radiated over the web, and I loved seeing those ecstatic photos of her and her honey, and her gorgeous ring.

Traditionally, bridal boudoir is very white, very wedding-focused with photos in the bride’s veil, wedding lingerie, and garter, but this babe went a different route.

She chose outfits that made her feel most like herself, focusing on her personality, and adding in some details for her man. We took some photos of her in some sexy lingerie with one of his favorite baseball team’s jerseys, got some stunning ring shots, and captured photos of all her gorgeous tattoos. (Her Lumpy Space Princess tattoo made me laugh out loud — it looks like LSP is ‘oh my glob’-ing at her ring!)

Although more traditional bridal boudoir has a special place in my heart, and intimate photos of you in your wedding day accessories are timeless heirlooms for you and your honey, I love going the non-traditional route too. These photos are so very her, and I know both her and her husband will love having photos of her feeling (and looking!) amazing to look back on in the years to come.

Why did you choose to invest in a boudoir session?

I had been considering investing in a boudoir session for awhile, just for myself, but getting married definitely helped me take the leap of faith. Not only would I have photos of myself feeling super CONFIDENT, but I could show them to my hubby on our wedding day!

Why did you choose Eleanor Elaine for your session?

I love Ellie’s style! It’s not like most boudoir photos I’ve seen. I’ve always loved how her photos turn out and how she makes each of her clients look so sexy! (Whether they are being modest or not.) Plus, she radiates confidence and I look for that in a photographer!

How did you feel before your session, and what did you do to prepare?

I felt pretty nervous because I had never done a session like this one before. To prepare, I picked some lingerie I already felt confident in, but also bought some new stuff to photograph in! Confidence = sexy.

How did you feel during your session?

I felt CONFIDENT. Ellie walks you through each pose and I never had to guess about what she wanted from me, she showed me everything!

How did you feel when you saw your images?

Extremely pleased, I couldn’t wait to show my hubby!

What would you say to someone who's unsure about doing a session?

Just do it! It’s a great confidence boost and will leave you loving your body afterwards.
