I’m more than your new favorite photographer.

When you work with me (or even just talk to me for ten minutes) you’ll quickly find out that I don’t take myself too seriously. I stay curious, love to get into the deep life stuff over an iced latte, and will show you wayyyy too many photos of my cat if you let me.

We’ll be besties if you love a photo booth, are okay with more than the occasional f-bomb, and most like being in spaces where you aren’t judged for being your whole weird self.

In 2018, I wouldn’t post a photo of myself without Photoshopping my body to hell and back.

Any perceived imperfection got “fixed” before a photo could be posted.

I’I had been looking up to the wrong role models and had convinced myself that looking “perfect” all the time was my ticket to feeling good enough. It took me a while to realize how exhausting that was, and even longer to realize that it was never actually about my body at all.

It was about what I had been taught photos were supposed to prove.

That I looked good enough.
That I was thin enough.
That I was polished enough.
That I was worth looking at.

Changing that mindset took longer than I’d like to admit, but little by little, I began to get my color back and I’m really proud to say that I’m the most myself that I’ve ever been.

I stopped editing my body and comparing my reflection in the mirror to these photoshopped photos, and surrounded myself with people who care more about who I am than what I look like.

And this experience completely changed my approach to photography.

I don’t want to take photos of manufactured moments or try to fit you into a box. I want to photograph the real person in front of my lens.

Because photos aren’t supposed to be perfect, they’re the proof that you were here.
