Her First Boudoir Experience — Evansville Indiana Boudoir Photographer
For most of my clients, their first boudoir session with me is their first boudoir session ever. Which is true for this babe too! She booked a session with one of her friends, who happened to be a mutual friend of both of us and one of the babes who trusted me to capture her during my very first boudoir session! I know when I’m preparing for a session of my own, I want to know all the things. Give me alllll the details, it makes me feel so much more at ease when I know exactly what to expect — which is also why the prep materials that I send to my clients are so thorough! I thought it would be helpful for you to get an inside glimpse at what you can expect from your very first boudoir experience with me, from the moment you walk in my door to the moment you leave!
So what can you expect from your boudoir experience with me?
When you arrive at my private boudoir studio, you’ll be greeted with my smiling face and one of my hand-crafted playlists specifically for boudoir. A fan favorite is my You Are Beyonce playlist that is the ultimate mixture of empowering jams and songs you can get down to and features mostly female artists. Love it SO much!
Together, we’ll get you settled and chat for a few minutes before we unpack your bags. We’ll hang your outfits on the clothing rack, talk about all your options, and I’ll help you narrow down to the best of the best, usually landing on three or four outfits that will work well together and give you the most variety in your images. We’ll talk about which you’re the most comfortable in and which are a little outside your comfort zone, which will help us decide what order we’ll shoot them in. After we’ve made a game plan and you’re feeling good, you’ll change into your first outfit and we’ll start shooting!
The whole experience seems so much more intimidating in theory than it actually is in person. In reality, it’s relaxed and as low stress as I can possibly make it.
If you imagine a typical “photography studio”, you’ll find almost the exact opposite when you walk in my door. I don’t have big lights, umbrellas, or soft boxes like they use during picture day at school. No backdrops or c-stands or any of the typical “studio” gear. That’s just not my style! Your session is just you, me, and my camera. The window in the studio is huge, and provides all the most gorgeous natural light we need all around the studio. I don’t have wind machines, and am usually not too in your face with my camera. My set includes the window with curtains to the floor that I love to play with, a mirror so you can check yourself out, and the bed!
Now, let’s talk posing. I never expect my clients to come in knowing how to pose and what to do with their hands, limbs, or faces. That’s my job!
We don’t do glamour shots around here. A lot of my posing involves movement, and I love creating steamy gifs for you! I give posing direction to you a couple of different ways to make sure it’s easy for you. My background in education makes me really conscious of learning styles, and I do my best to give visual and verbal instructions! I will give you a general idea of what your body should look like by demonstrating the poses before I ask you to do them, and I’ll repeat instructions and replicate poses next to you as you get into position. Once your body is situated, I’ll back up and adjust your hair and your outfits to make sure you look flawless. And of course, you’ll never wonder what to do with your hands; I’ll give you some options of where to put your hands and let you decide which feels most natural to you — or you’ll cycle through all the options for more variety in your photos! I’ll also give you a few different facial expression prompts as we’re shooting to capture a few different moods.
And as always, I’ll pause between poses to show you the back of my camera so you can see that though the poses might feel awkward and uncomfy, you look completely amazing. I’ve got you!
Your hour in the studio will fly by, for real.
Most of my clients are surprised by how fast the time flies! At the end of your session, I’ll help you pack your wardrobe away and give you a short spiel about what to expect afterwards and a timeline of when you can expect to hear from me to schedule your image reveal and see your photos. And of course, you’ll have time and space to ask me any questions you have! I want you to feel totally prepared and good about every step of the process.

Why did you choose to invest in a boudoir session?
I invested in a boudoir session because for one, it was with you sooo why not!!! But two is because I knew how empowering these sessions made you feel and I wanted to feel that. I always heard such great things about these sessions and I wanted to understand first hand what it was like. And it surpassed my expectations!!
Why did you choose Eleanor Elaine Photography for your session?
Cause its you and you are perfect. and i knew you would make me feel comfortable and like a queen. I couldnt imagine doing a session with someone other than you!
How did you feel before your session, and what did you do to prepare?
I wasnt really nervous for my session, I was just way too excited! It definitely helped that I had my bff with me. It made me feel so much more comfortable. There is nothing better than having your bff there yell out, "Yaaaaas girl" and cheering you on during your picture.
What were you most nervous about before your session?
Not feeling comfortable with myself or body,
What were the biggest questions you had before your session?
What to wear mostly - but after reading through your emails I felt much better about it!
How did you feel during your session?
AMAZING! I felt more comfortable as the session went on (obvi since i was legit naked in front of you all). I felt like a true Beyonce, I feel like I can never say that enough. At that point in time, I had never felt so empowered and secure in myself and my body. The whole experience was a 12/10
What was your favorite outfit, and why?
That is such a tough one. I definitely think the body suit. But i loved just the sheet over me too lol
How did you feel after your session?
When can I do my next one? ;-) but seriously, I'm in love with my experience and my photos. I cant stop staring at them. I couldn't have asked for a better first experience.
Would you do it again?
YAAAAAAS
How did you feel when you received your gallery and saw your images?
I was in literal disbelief over how good they were. I probably looked at them 100 times that day because I was so obsessed. It made me feel so good about myself. I was like "damn girl, you look like that??"
Which photo from your session was your favorite, and why?
It was hard for me to pick out a number where I wasn't going to spend a ton, lol. If I could have bought all of them, I 100% would have. I am more in love with all of the bodysuit pics than the others, but I also love my booty pic in [my boyfriend’s] shirt.
Did you feel like the investment was worth it?
100%. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.
What would you say to someone who's unsure about doing a session?
Something similar to what I put on my Instagram. "if you wanna feel like a Beyonce and a queen at the same time then get your photos done with Ellie" I would talk about how empowering I felt during this session and how I think every female should experience something like this. and everyone deserves to!
