Celebrating Your Confidence — Evansville Indiana Boudoir Photographer
It’s so important to me that you know that a session with me is sooo much more than a business transaction. This isn’t a one and done deal, so if that’s what you’re looking for… you might be in the wrong place. When you invest in the boudoir experience with me, you’re not only receiving incredible booty pics and seeing yourself in a new way, but you’re also receiving space to be yourself, encouragement and celebrating, and my forever support.
From the first moments that we start to get to know each other to keeping in touch long after your session, I'm one of your biggest cheerleaders.
I go SO hard for my clients. I'm rooting for you 100% forever, and I love to stay in touch on social media and cheer for you when you get engaged, get promoted, chase your dreams, finish degrees, get married, buy a house, allllll of it! It makes my heart so happy to watch you live your best life. You can count on me to celebrate with you, and not only cheer for you, but celebrate every win and have your back through the tough times too. Once you have a session with me, you have me in your corner forever.
What I love most is the effects of your session after you leave, though. Especially when you’ve been putting in the hard work to develop your self-confidence before your book your session, seeing your love for yourself blossom afterwards is so beautiful. More times than I can count, I’ve heard things like — “You aren’t gonna believe this. Since our session, I’ve been wearing makeup again, and I feel amazing about myself! I’m already planning my next session…”
It’s the little comments like those that remind me why I do what I do. It means so much to me to know that the time we spend together means as much to you as it does to me, and hearing the impact that seeing yourself in this way has on you just lights me up. These sessions are so much more than helping you pose and taking amazing photos though.
There are a lot of ways that I fangirl over you and encourage you during your session, and one of my favorites is showing you the back of my camera and seeing you fangirl over yourself.
When I started my business and began my journey as a professional photographer, I would have never shown my client the back of my camera. I had this misconception that it was a huge no-no, that I shouldn't show photos before I edited them. And to be totally honest, I was constantly battling imposter syndrome feeling like a fauxtographer. I had ditched the training wheels, but was still learning exactly how I liked to shoot and mastering my gear. I was super insecure that my work straight out of the camera wasn't good enough, and I really didn’t want to show anyone photos that weren’t “perfect” in my eyes.
But I got over it.
It's incredible what seeing these raw photos of yourself does for your confidence during a session.
After gaining experience on my own and realizing that my clients liked what we created together and trusted me to know my shit, I built more confidence in myself. Through that process, I realized that I was causing my clients to miss out on the value that comes with seeing yourself as you are before ANY adjustments are made to the photo. No presets, no technical fixes, nothing. It’s especially powerful to see yourself as you are after holding poses that feel awkward because it’s easy to be in position thinking to yourself, “there’s no way this looks good.”
And speaking from my own experience, it’s too easy for my brain to trick itself into thinking that I’m the anomaly, that my photographer has made everyone else look incredible but there’s no way that can be true for me too. But seeing yourself on the back of the camera, seeing how the sometimes weird feeling poses translate in photos and seeing what I see when I look at you really opens your eyes to the fact that you are not the anomaly. You are beautiful.
And that, in and of itself, is so powerful.
Why did you choose to invest in a boudoir session with Eleanor Elaine?I chose to invest in boudoir with Eleanor Elaine Photography to celebrate my femininity and to embrace my sexuality. I chose Ellie specifically after combing through her social media and website. I appreciated that her work was not limited to smaller bodies and that she encouraged women of all sizes to feel confident. Ellie's branding is authentic and from the second you talk to her, that shines through.
How did you feel before your session, and what did you do to prepare?I was nervous as hell! I woke up the morning of my session and thought I was going to be sick. Everything from my session came from Target (cheap and cute!!) or my closet. I did my own hair and makeup as I wanted this session to be a reflection of how I see myself most of the time, which is not high glam. I hydrated, stretched (DO NOT FORGET TO STRETCH), and asked Ellie 7 million questions.
What were the biggest questions you had before your session? The biggest questions I had were mostly relating to my performance. I was nervous that I wouldn't photograph well, that I wouldn't pose correctly, etc. Ellie is an educated professional and eliminated those fears the second I stepped into the studio.
How did Eleanor make you feel throughout the process?Like a motherfucking goddess. Ellie is the ULTIMATE hype woman and I felt like I could walk on water. She is very big on consent and asked for permission before moving hair, adjusting wardrobe, etc. She makes you feel like absolute royalty.
What do you feel like you got out of your boudoir session?I was able to see all of the hard work that I've put in over the past four years radiate through my images. I looked genuinely happy, which is something that has been a struggle for me lately. My images show confidence, warmth, and a sensuous side I didn't know I possessed. My session helped me channel the confidence I had worked so hard to build.
How has the boudoir experience with Eleanor Elaine impacted you?1) Ellie is someone I consider a friend now. She is so incredibly supportive and genuine. 2) I have photographic evidence to support the fact that I'm a bad ass bitch. (I'm too much, so sorry)
Was the experience worth the financial investment that you made?Without a doubt. Seeing your photos come to life (in print) is an unbelievable experience. Yes, it is a large investment for most people. As a college student, it was a significant financial demand, but Ellie's payment plans made it so much easier.
What would you say to someone who's unsure about doing a session?DIVE IN HEADFIRST! Ask all the questions. Do all the research. Feel all the feelings. THEN DO THE DAMN THING! I was so apprehensive about doing a session that it took almost 4 years to say yes. Now that I've done one, I want to book a session every year!
