Boudoir is a Liberating Experience — Evansville Indiana Boudoir Photographer
There are so many reasons that people book boudoir sessions. Sometimes they do it for their significant others, as gifts to their partners, for their own self confidence, or just as a fun thing to do. Regardless of the ‘why’, the feedback I get most often is that the session did more for their self esteem than they could have predicted, and they left the studio feeling so much more confident in themselves. This is my favorite thing to hear, and something that I heard from this babe as well.
“I chose to invest in a boudoir session 100% for myself and my self-confidence. It was LIBERATING AF.”
That’s exactly the kind of thing I love to hear. So many of my clients make the decision to book a session just for themselves, and I’m sooo into that. I don’t think boudoir has to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you’re only able to do when you have an occasion or someone to gift the photos to. I wholeheartedly believe that just wanting to do a session is a perfect reason to book! I don’t think you need a reason, occasion, or excuse to book a boudoir session. (Though if you need a reason or an excuse, I can definitely come up with a few for ya!) I think, and I hope you’ll agree with me, that wanting to do a session is the perfect reason to book. You deserve to be documented as you are in whatever season of life you’re in right now.
You are worth an experience like this, an experience that reminds you that you’re worth being a priority in your own life.
These absolute THROWBACK photos are from my first year shooting boudoir, and from one of the first paid sessions I did. (And it’s still one of my all time favorites; these photos are SO GOOD!!) We shot at the Loft on 6th in downtown Evansville, and it was the most fun. And kind of full circle, now that I have a studio of my own downtown! This babe came into her session fully trusting me and my creative vision, and I’m so thankful for that. She also created my first logo and brand identity! She was an absolute gem to work with, and I can’t wait to see her back in the studio some day.
Why did you choose to invest in a boudoir session?
100% for myself and my self-confidence. It was LIBERATING AF. Also, my man really liked them too, he said no one has ever done that for him and it was less about the "Sexiness" and more about how intimate and thoughtful it was. win win.
How did you feel before your session, and what did you do to prepare?
I felt a little nervous, being at a size that I am not the most comfortable in. But I better make it WORK HONEY and when I got there to see a squad of amazing women ready to take on the day I felt so much better. Beyonce and Wine also help.
How did you feel during your session?
Girl I felt like a queen. I know it's fun to say all these phrases like YASS SIS WORK BITCH and sometimes people say them as a joke... but for real I felt so much encouragement and empowerment just from hearing those positive affirmations that you throw at me all the time. I wanted to work with you specifically because not only do I freaking LOVE your work, but I love you as a person in general.
Would you recommend a boudoir session to other women?
Omg yes it is a MUST
