You’re Allowed to Smile – Evansville Indiana Boudoir Photographer

Like many of us during our first session, this absolute king felt stuck in the mindset of having to appear a certain way in his photos.

As we were getting started, I took a few photos (including one of him laughing) and he said something about what his face was supposed to look like when I reminded him that he was allowed to smile! He didn't realize he didn't have to be anything for the session except himself, and that his laughter and genuine smile was totally allowed.

In his words: “From the outside looking in, I thought I needed to have a certain pose or a certain way my face looked and that was not the case at all. My entire session was one that made me [feel like] I was hanging out with my bestie the whole time.”

Can I share a little bit more about his experience in the studio with you, in his words?

“Body confidence was something I really struggled with - no matter what. I would wake up each morning and pick myself apart. Being in this session was about the experience for me because I wanted to go through with something that started to make me see myself differently. I don't pick on every single thing anymore. The craziest part to me was that my absolute favorite pictures were the ones that were the most revealing. I wanted to do the sheets because I wanted to go all in. If I were going to do this, why not do it all the way? It can be such a soul-bearing experience and to be able to trust someone to walk through that [with me] was what helped my decision. I don't know who is reading this, or where you are in your life, but know that going through this experience makes you not only love yourself, but be loved by the person taking the picture. I cannot say enough good things specifically about Ellie. Please love yourself and know that doing something like a [boudoir] session will only contribute to making that statement a reality.”
