The Real Cost of a Boudoir Session – Evansville Indiana Photographer

If you've been stalking my Instagram for a while and reading blog posts about what to wear and what a session is like, and then immediately get in your head and talk yourself out of it—I get it.

Sometimes the thing holding you back isn’t whether you want to do it.

You know that you want to do it, but can’t get past the idea of investing in yourself just because. We sooo easily spend money on gifts for other people or experiences with our friends. But when it comes to doing something just because we want to?

You feel the hesitation, and might start thinking about how you can justify it.

Doing something for yourself isn’t selfish. You deserve to do the things you want to do with your one life.

And we don’t have to pretend money isn’t part of the conversation. A boudoir session is a luxury experience, but that doesn’t mean it has to feel mysterious or unattainable. I’d rather be transparent about the investment up front so you’re not left guessing, and can move forward with clarity and confidence. I mean… that’s kind of the whole point of doing something like this, right?

Booking a boudoir session is intentional.

It’s not something you impulsively add to cart at midnight when you can’t sleep. (Though, that’s might be when you fill out my contact form to get in touch) There’s thought behind it. You don’t book a session on a whim; you book because something in you says, “I really need this.”

But then comes that voice in your head that asks you to justify it or prove why you deserve it. To come up with a “good enough” reason to spend that kind of money on yourself.

And that’s where so many people get stuck. Because it’s easier to spend money on things that feel externally validated, like concerts, vacations, or gifts. Things that don’t require you to question your worthiness. But when it’s something just for you, something that asks you to be seen and take up space, it suddenly feels harder to explain.

But a boudoir session is an experience. One that stays with you long after it’s over just like a concert or a vacation. And it stays not just in the photos you take home, but in the way you see yourself afterward.

What a boudoir session actually costs

I’ve photographed hundreds of sessions at this point, and I can tell you this: I’ve never had someone regret doing this for themselves. But I have had plenty of women tell me they wish they hadn’t waited so long.

The session fee to reserve your date for a Signature Boudoir Session is $449. This includes a full day in the studio, professional hair and makeup, head-to-toe posing guidance, and your image reveal an hour after your session so you don’t have to spend days wondering how they turned out and can instead see yourself while you’re still in the moment, before self-doubt has a chance to creep back in..

During your image reveal, you’ll choose your favorite images and how you want to keep them—whether digitals, prints, an album, or all three! Most clients typically invest between $1000–$2000 depending on what they fall in love with and how they want to keep their images.

And payment plans are always available, so you can walk away with exactly what you want without added stress.

Stop waiting for the “right time” or “someday”

You could keep waiting until you lose weight or life finally calms down or you hit that milestone you’ve been dangling in front of yourself like a carrot on a string. OR. Or you could decide that you matter now. Not in five years or 10 pounds from now.

Because what happens when you lose those 10 pounds and still find pieces of yourself to nitpick? The goalposts move and you put this off, once again waiting for that someday or to meet that next arbitrary milestone you set for yourself.

I’ve been there. I’ve taken the photos when I didn’t feel my best, and if I’m completely honest with you… I didn’t love them at the time. I found things about myself that I wished was different, like we all do. But I look back now with so much love, wondering what I saw that I thought needed to change.

I’m able to look back at the photos of that younger version of me with so much pride that she took the photos even when it would’ve been really easy to make an excuse and put it off.

I don’t want to let my life pass me by while I hide because I think I need to look or be different. Whether that looks like hiding behind a camera, behind clothes, or behind the idea that I’ll show up later… whenever later may be.

Choosing yourself means deciding that living your life in the present matters more than whatever feelings you have about your body.

What happens when you say yes?

When you stop talking yourself out of it, it’s like that moment before a skydive. (I assume… I’ve never gone skydiving lol) But I imagine that you’re standing there, envisioning everything that could go wrong, but also how exhilarating it would feel to actually do it how much courage you'll feel afterwards knowing you did the hard, scary thing.

And when you finally say yes, you gain something wayyy bigger than photos. You prove to yourself that you can feel discomfort and move through it anyway. That you can expand your comfort zone and come out the other side feeling more confident.

And yeah, duh–you’ll leave with gorgeous photos you’ll still be obsessed with when you’re 70, but the real payoff is how you feel after. This kind of confidence doesn’t just disappear when the session ends.

If you’ve been waiting for someone to tell you that it’s okay to do this for yourself, here it is: you are allowed to invest in yourself.

And if money is the thing holding you back, let’s talk about it. I’ve worked with hundreds of people and just as many budgets. The point of this experience is for your to walk away feeling empowered, and in my studio that includes how you feel about your investment.
