Same Day Image Reveal Sessions — Evansville Indiana Boudoir Photographer

After a couple years of struggling to figure out how I wanted to facilitate the boudoir experience with same day image reveal sessions, I finally decided to take the leap and just try.

Early this year, I had my very first client who was flying to me from out of state. (And can we take a beat to just scream about that together for a minute?! It means so much to me that someone would travel just for a session with me!!) So with this babe making a special trip for her session, and knowing that she was going to be in town for a short amount of time, I knew I wanted to give her an even better experience than she signed up for. In the past, I would cull and edit your photos over the week following your session, and then schedule a time to meet over Zoom and look through your proofs together and place your order. That was definitely a step up from sending a gallery link and leaving you to choose on your own, but I knew the experience could be better.

I’d been thinking about same day image reveal sessions for a while and it was just… a headache to try to streamline my editing workflow and condense what would normally take 8-10 hours into 60 minutes. Until… a boudoir photographer who I adore and admire, Carrie Anne Kelly from Oceanside, CA, shared on her Instagram stories that she does same day image reveal sessions and shows unedited photos to her clients. A lightbulb immediately went off for me — here I was trying to cull 800 photos down to 100 and then edit those all in an hour to show my clients, when it could be so much more simple than that.

And it SHOULD be so much more simple than that! When we’re shooting, over and over I’m thinking about how beautiful you are just existing in front of my camera, and following up your session with showing you the unedited raw photos gives you the opportunity to see what I see when we’re shooting. It’s super important to me that you see that you don’t need any editing to be gorgeous.

Since the very first same day image reveal I did, I knew it elevated the experience SO much. Let me give you a rundown of how it works:

You arrive to the studio and we’ll shoot for about an hour. Then I’ll help you pack up your outfits and tell you exactly how everything will work. You’ll leave the studio for about an hour and go grab lunch, get a coffee, or just take some time to decompress. While you’re gone, I’m uploading your images to my laptop — taking a quick restroom/snack/move my car so I don’t get a parking ticket break — and then sitting down to cull. I almost always overshoot, so I have the task of culling 600-800 photos down to around 100 of the best proofs.

An hour after your session ends, you’ll come back to the studio to music playing, candles burning, and your incredible photos on the big screen ready for us to ooh and aah over!! We’ll spend the next hour going through each of them and deciding which you love and can’t live without, and how you’d like to keep them. You’ll have the chance to flip through examples of the albums I offer, the prints you can order, and feel all the album material covers to choose your fav.

Once we’ve chosen your favorites, I’ll create an invoice and give you your final total. You’ll let me know if you’d like to pay in full or set up a custom payment plan, and will make your first payment before you head out to carry on with your afternoon! I do my best to make the experience super easy, really special, and FUN for both of us! I want this to be something that makes you feel confident and cared for, and switching to offer same day image reveals with every session makes the whole experience so so so much better.

How would seeing your photos an hour after your session make you feel?

Did you enjoy this post?

I would love to have you in the studio so you can have an experience like this for yourself! Whether you’re all in and ready to go, need some more info before we get started, or are on the fence and want to talk things through before you commit – I’m here for ya! Click here to get in touch!
