I Don’t Just Talk the Talk — Evansville Indiana Boudoir Photographer

I’ve heard all the excuses in the world to not book the session, and they’ve all come from my own mind. I don’t look like the people I see in boudoir photos on social media, I don’t have a reason to do it, yadda yadda yadda. So many times my own excuses and negative self talk has held me back and stopped me from doing things I want to do — whether it’s booking a boudoir session, getting a new swimsuit, or even just grabbing drinks after dinner with friends. More than a few times in the past my own mind has stopped me from living my best life.

I’m gonna make a promise to myself, and to you, right now.

It’s so easy for me to talk the talk. To talk online about how vulnerability is so important and how it’s necessary to be your authentic self. But it’s another thing altogether to actually walk the walk; to be vulnerable and do the hard things. It’s really important to me to never forget how you feel on the other side of the camera, and to make sure I always know what it feels like to get ready for a session. To continue feeling those feelings — whether they’re nervous, excited, or somewhere in between. To keep in mind what it’s like to plan and prep for a session because even though I do this every day, when I’m prepping for a session of my own I still get nervous!! It’s important to me to not forget what it’s like to meet someone for the first time and lose clothes for a camera. I don’t think that’s something that’s firmly inside most people’s comfort zones, mine included.

So this is me promising to do the hard things. To be vulnerable when I feel able to. To show up and do the work on and for myself. And at the very least, to book a boudoir session for myself regularly. If I would want it for my bff, I should want it for myself too. So I will.

And I hope you do too.

I hope you treat yourself like you would treat your bff. Maybe that means getting your hair refreshed, buying a new book, or staying in and relaxing instead of going out and socializing. Whatever self care looks like for you today, I hope you to take one small step towards it too.

You are worthy, you are enough, and you deserve to live the life you want to live.

It’s the biggest privilege to walk this journey with you and to know we all have this community on the good AND not so good days. If the time feels right for you to book a session for yourself and have this experience, I’d love to get you on my calendar and celebrate you in the studio soon.

SEND ME A MESSAGE IF YOU’RE READY TO CELEBRATE TOO
