Investing in How You Choose to View Yourself — Evansville Indiana Boudoir Photographer
From the minute this babe reached out to me about booking a boudoir session, we felt like kindred spirits. We immediately connected and clicked just through emails, and instantly bonded over our love for our cats and astrology and tarot. She incorporated tarot cards and crystals into her session, which was sososo much fun for me to capture, and she has a tattoo tribute to her handsome boy, which gives me the biggest heart eyes ever!! If I was better at commitment, I might have a cat tattoo (cattoo?) too. From start to finish, this session was the most fun, and we spent most of our time shooting laughing and joking together.
If you’ve had a session before, you know that I always say that less isn’t more when in comes to your boudoir wardrobe. She brought in lots of outfit options and we decided together which we loved the most and which would photograph the best. She also brought in some tchotchkes that we placed around the studio that made an appearance in some of her photos. It was so cool to add to the space with some personal touches and things that are meaningful to her. It’s hard to say, but that might have been my favorite part: how personal to her her session was!
We talked through all her ideas for her photos before she arrived, and during her session all the photos we took really captured her. Like she says, investing in a boudoir session was investing in how she chooses to view herself. It means so much to me when my clients trust me to capture them as they are. That’s all I can ever ask for. You can see some of our favorite photos from her session below, and hear in her own words what she thought about her boudoir session!
Why did you choose to invest in a boudoir session?
To me it was an investment in how I choose to view myself. It could be very easy for me to surround myself with negativity, but by trusting both myself and Ellie to be seen and captured as I am, I was able to make it harder for seeds of doubt to burrow in my mind.
How did you feel before your session, and what did you do to prepare?
I was the good kind of nervous in the weeks leading up to the shoot because I never let myself forget my motivations for booking the session. I tried to prepare by thinking of both how to look my best, but also stay true to myself. I only needed to get one or two items beforehand to make sure I had options, but the main thing was trusting that I would be in good (and professional) hands the entire time
What were you most nervous about before your session?
I was afraid that I would let my insecurities prevent me from enjoying the experience
What were the biggest questions you had before your session?
I honestly didn't have time to have questions! As soon as I reached out I was provided with thorough intro information that covered most basic questions, and I was kept updated and informed at every stage of the process!
How did you feel during your session?
I felt so comfortable in the studio-- it was the perfect balance of being prepared and ready and also no pressure whatsoever. Everything was fluid and nothing felt forced or formal-- it's less going from pose to pose and more capturing the moments that feel best in.
How did you feel after your session?
I felt incredible and exhausted! I knew just from the back of the camera that I'd love the images, and when you're told to stretch and limber up before your session-- LISTEN!
Would you do it again?
In a heartbeat!!
How did you feel when you received your gallery and saw your images?
A million heart eyes and chest clutches!
What would you say to someone who's unsure about doing a session?
What I told a friend when they thought they wouldn't have the courage was that it all boils down to your comfort level. Each session is your own, and you dictate everything from the level of undress to what poses you feel comfortable in. You're worth it, but also don't force something that you're not ready for.
